Considering your resources
We live in such an amazing time. There are so many resources available  that it can be very overwhelming. I spend quite a bit of time researching wedding trends and ideas. Here are some resources I have enjoyed and found helpful. I’m a huge advocate for watching wedding videos on youtube – find out what you don’t like, what you like, and what you love. We will work together to make sure your wedding ceremony harmonizes with your vision.
Please keep in mind that not everyone has a year long engagement, what may be considered “average” does not equal “most common”. It’s easy to feel like you are behind and get stressed out – a shorter engagement is very common and you can get it done.

After talking about that stressed out feeling with a bride I was working with, she recommended Meg Keene’s book: A Practical Wedding: Creative Ideas for Planning a Beautiful, Affordable, and Meaningful Celebration. Beyond that, Megan has a great website with the same name.

Real Simple has a great Wedding Planning Checklist (it’s real simple)

weddingwire.com is an industry standard for online planning. I list as a professional vendor with them.

Offbeatbride.com is my favorite wedding website. I can get lost in here for hours.

Good old wikipedia – here’s a bit on the history of handfasting.

theknot.com is another great site for wedding planning. Here is a cool article on Your First Wedding Planning To-Dos.

I pull a lot of inspiration from equallywed.com. Here is another great article – 5 Things To Do Immediately After Getting Engaged

greenweddingshoes.com is a really fun place to search for inspiration and ideas, especially if the terms bohemian and alternative resonate with you.

indieweddingguide.com is fun place to look for alternative ideas for your wedding.

Definitely consider your own social media outlets – facebook, instagram, pinterest.

There are Bridal Magazines galore. I’m sure you will find one for your taste and style.

brides.com is another zine/website resource. You’ll find me listed as a vendor here as well.

Most of your favorite websites will have wedding articles that are interesting. Here are three I really like:
WEDDINGS WITH A TWIST: 10 COUPLES WHO SAID “I DO” IN A DIFFERENT WAY

Please, if you find yourself getting overwhelmed, just step away, take a breath, wash your hands, and stop for a moment. Take a short walk or call a friend. Come back to your planning refreshed and ready to take it one step at a time. Please let me know if you have any questions, concerns, ideas, or just need to make sure I’m still in town with you on my schedule. I am and you are, but I don’t mind reassuring you.

If you need help finding a superb wedding planner, DJ, or photographer? I have excellent contacts with local vendors I've worked with over the years and enjoy looking forward to working with. I'd love to connect you!

My best to you both as you plan your wedding.
